Jennifer Fish's and Jennifer Deppenschmidt's PledgePage
We are running the Dublin Marathon in October 2001. We are so excited about this. My name is Jennifer Fish. I got started with Team In Training when I didn't do so well on my Army Physical Training Test. That is something that I always prided myself on doing excellent on. One thing just lead to another. I heard about Team In Training and decided that I could help them raise money while they could give me a reason to run. I found my reason to run while going through the newspaper one day. In it, was a little 5 year old boy with myeloid leukemia named Nicholas. I wrote to his parents asking permission to run in Honor of Nicholas. They agreed and here I am today. I started telling friends and that's how I got my friend Jen to join. Jen's cousin died of aplastic anemia at the age of 17. In order for Jen to write about her cousin that she knew somewhat about, she went to her Uncle and found out everything about her that Jen didn't even know. She is happy that she could get to see her cousin in a different light and feel alittle closer to her.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission is to cure leukemia and all other related cancers and give families and patients hope for the future outside of the hospital. The Society uses nearly 76% of expenditures for research, education, and patient services. An estimated 106,700 people in the US alone will be diagnosed with leukemia or other related cancers. Every five minutes someone gets diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma-nearly 300 people per day. Every nine minutes a child, a mother, a loved one dies from leukemia. Do you see why we need your help in fighting this devastating disease. Why let one more person die from this when we can do our part in helping. Please help support us and help us reach our goal of $8,000. Any amount that you donate is tax deductible. Think Tax Deduction for 2001 and think of the people that you will help along the way. |
